I admittedly know nothing about Pern other than what I've read in another crossover like this, but that's hilarious. I want to know what J'hn and O'Niell's reactions are. *grins*

Wish I had time to flesh this out more, but I wanted to post something this week as a tribute to Anne McCaffrey.

If you read Dragon Lord, then you'll know that the rider of the bronze dragon who mates with the senior gold dragon becomes the Weyrleader.

Right now, Meredith is Benden's only queen, which makes Rodney one of the two Weyrleaders (because he refuses to be called Weyrwoman!!!)

As a result, J'hon is thinking OMG, because suddenly he's gone from bad boy rebel, to bronze rider most likely to lead the Weyr!

O'Niell is feeling smug that his son's lover bagged gold, but he's also aware of the political ramifications, so he's already plotting how to sell this to the Lord Holders.

Of course the most amusing reaction will be Lord Landry. I suspect he was there to watch the hatching, and he would have practically exploded.

Oh, this is very cool! Both the story and this wee follow up! I hope you expand on it; I'd love to read more. :)

I think it's safe to say the Pern plot bunnies won't leave me alone for long.

Plot bunnies with dragon wings are pretty difficult to catch and contain, so they always break out again sooner or later!

Not making any promises though, because I have Ancient City Bingo to work on.

I loved this, I can just imagine the looks when the little dragon chose Rodney, I'd love to see more if time and the muse cooperate.

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I don't have a sequel roughed out yet, but Pern plot bunnies are very good at interrupting my writing schedule, so who knows?

wOohooo! I love it. This is a delightfully fitting nod to McCaffrey and Pern.

Thanks :-)

I was lucky I already had a rough draft, so I gave my beta a shout and we managed to pull it together.

It's taken a chunk out of my A.C.B. schedule, but I have a very persistent new muse so I'm hoping to get back on track.

I liked it quite a bit, though admittedly the only thing that threw me out of the story was the fact that the dragons' names didn't end in -th, as per the naming conventions McCaffery set up. Other than that, awesome job!

Sorry about the dragon names. I know it's not very traditional, but then the story was all about breaking traditions.

Also I couldn't resist pairings such as E'Van (Lorne) and dragon Parrish.

I'll try and put more "th" suffixes in for future dragon characters.
