Listen up, kids!

'Kids' as in students, interns, whoever's been screwing up and asking me questions about these... Grr.

OK, this is the last time I'm going to repeat this. Vertigo is a symptom, NOT a disease, whether it be subjective or objective. Vertigo usually occurs as a result of a disorder in the vestibular system, since it is responsible for integrating sensory stimuli and movement and for keeping objects in visual focus as the body moves. I better not have to tell you anymore than that. Sheesh.

And...

For all you EEG incompitant people.. Most - not all - most waves of 7.5 Hz and higher frequencies are normal findings in the EEG of an awake adult. Waves with a frequency of 7 Hz or less often are classified as abnormal in awake adults, although they normally can be seen in children or in adults who are asleep. In certain situations, EEG waveforms of an appropriate frequency for age and state of alertness are considered abnormal because they occur at an inappropriate scalp location or demonstrate irregularities in rhythmicity or amplitude. Some waves are recognized by their shape, head distribution, and symmetry. Certain patterns are normal at specific ages or states of alertness and sleep.

Or better yet, READ YOUR TEXTBOOKS (whether they be brand-spankin' new, or dusty, I don't care) because I like getting MY work done efficiently.

EDIT: Yes, I'm frustrated and directing it all at you - sorry!
