. . . which, literally translated, means something along the lines of even small animals produce manure. In Lowland Scots it could be many a mickle makes a muckle, and in English - who knows. Every little bit helps sounds housewifish to my foreign ears.
Anyway, the above, referred to my own life, means that even though there is no single Significant Other anywhere around, there are at least twenty Quite Significant Others all over the place (brother and his family in Italy, son in Oz, assorted friends in 4 nations). May they all be around for a long time, providing useful fertiliser for my mind and emotions. Thanks to timberwolfoz, without whom this thought wouldn't have occurred to me, or maybe not in this form.
