Kevin Rudd (Australian Labor Party leader)

Am so angry that I can barely type straight (brief Australian political rant in LJ-cut, which I hope will work)

Rudd's 'counselling' (transl.: tearing strips off) his Shadow Foreign Affairs spokesman because he had declared the ALP's opposition to the death penalty sickens me. This from a man who, when he was elected ALP leader, repeatedly stated that his personal hero was Pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer, hanged by the Nazis in 1945. But there's a federal election looming, and there are votes to be gathered among those who still feel anger for the victims of the Bali bombings. Thank whomever for the Australian Greens.
