I woke up at 5 this morning to drive Devanie to her physical training at MSU. Even though she has a parking permit for the lot directly accross the street from the place she works out, I like to get up with her and drive her there...because it makes her happy.
This morning it was particularly cold. After dropping her off, I drove back to her apartment (because its closer than mine) and ran like hell from the car to the door. Shortly before reaching my tauntingly warm goal of the in-door, my legs shot out from under me and I landed HARD on my lower back. Naturally, I decided to throw one arm behind me in order to catch myself which completely f***ed up my shoulder. Now I can not raise my arm without extreme pain.
Now I've a monstrously bruised bottom/lower back and an arm that does me no good. Hopefully I will be healed enough to resume full mobility by Wednesday (9AM production of The Crucible for regional high schools).
Speaking of The Crucible, we opened on Thursday and the crowds have been pretty good. Last night was odd, no one clapped after ANY of the scenes. In the last scene, as the lights were going down and the last drum had hit its beat, the audience sat in complete silence when suddenly an older woman was heard saying "wow". After that we got a nice standing ovation.
