Why is it that we care more about Don Imus than Alberto Gonzales right now in America? Yes, what Imus said is deplorable and sad, but shouldn't he be given a second chance? Shouldn't we be allowed to redeem ourselves and make good on our aplogies? I have a serious problem with the closed mindedness --- the idea that -- he said those things, so fire him. What? Should we just silence those who say things we don't like? Should he be punished? Absolutely. We maliscious statements are made, there should be consequences. But, should they destroy a person's entire career that they worked years to build? I don't think so and I know there are those that disagree with them.
The media in America has focused on Don Imus all week. What about Alberto Gonzales? He is going to be testifying soon. New revelations are coming out and Americans don't know about them because we are so engrossed in Imus. This is such a failure of the fourth estate that it saddens me.
Also, the Duke lacrosse players have been vindicated -- Amen!
I've had a super busy week, but I've gotten a great deal accomplished, thankfully. I hope everyone had a nice Easter and are back in the swing of reality.
