The light has not gone out of our lives yet, but the wick is flickering. It is hard to believe that less than 60 years ago, a half-naked fakir brought down the world's greatest Empire where the sun never set, without ever holding public office or preaching a moment's worth of physical violence. Yet he achieved what no sane man could have thought possible, amid bloodshed some may say, but none that was instigated at his behest. He died empty-handed & left behind no vast treasure. Yet he is remembered more than any other Indian that has ever lived. Not just at home, but across the world. A time will come when people will scarcely believe that such a person could exist and may eventually place him in the company of other holy men such as Jesus Christ & The Buddha. Jai Gandhiji! Jai Gandhigiri!
