Where do I start? The beginning? The end? Somewhere inbetween?
Friday: Caroline Page won runner-up high point. Note, it's her SECOND year of swimming. EVER. She started with us last year, and I begged her mom to put her in SWAT, and look where she is now. HECK YEAH!
Then Connor O'Toole won 2nd runner up high point! He ALSO started with us then joined SWAT. AND he lives in the neighborhood. We breed swimmers ya'll. We don't recruit.
After Friday, we were ahead by only 11 points.
Saturday: I swam this day, and did OK. I can't really complain, but I was a little disappointed. I did well on my relay splits.. so I guess I'll count those haha ;-). But my age group got us behind 240 points. Thanks Daniel for getting DQed, thanks Keppler for missing 50 free (even though I doubt he would have scored). lol but it's ALL GOOD! Because the 9-10 year-olds kicked BUTT and caught us up!
B-Toole (Brandon O'Toole) set 2 county records, almost beat Anthony McMurry in 25 fly, and was apart of the THREE-WAY-TIE for High Point!!
(L-R: Brandon, Anthony, Tripp) After Saturday we were behind by only 4 points.
Sunday: The longest of them all. I worked 12 stinkin hours this day. Our warm-up was at 7:30 AM, and we didn't leave until 7:30 PM. But it was all worth it. 11-12 year-olds. Where do I start? They won all their relays. Cameron Decker (who doesn't swim year-round, and never should) went a 28 in his 50 fly. A 12 y-o summer leaguer. WOW. Not fair lol. Naww, Cameron is such a sprinter I totally expected him to do that well. And Chase Wilson WON the event, with Cameron in 2nd. Chase was such a sweetheart about it. Man, if he was 4 years older.. haha!
(Cameron and Chase) I would love to say more, but I'm sorta pressed for time. The Kevin Doran won one of the high-point trophies (I can't even remember which one..)
Stephanie Wilding also won one of them, but I can't remember which one, and I never got a picture. But here's the amazing 11-12 girls relay:
And here's them practicing their poze when they called their name. I swear, it's all about the poze ya'll.
HAHA!!!!!!! Then it was time for the 13-14 girls. That relay broke the previous records set by my Morning View girls (YES!)
Jordan Evans ALMOST broke AMANDA WEIR's record in 50 fly. She was .1 away. Dang. Aileen won 50 free, and beat Marin Morrison by .01!!! She really slammed her hand into the wall to beat Marin, and jammed her fingers so much, that we thought her hand was broken. She sat on the bleachers, crying, because she couldn't move her hand and she had a chance to win high-point. But she had enough heart to still swim. Can you believe that? She couldn't move her hand, but she still wanted to swim. God bless her. And she still scored points. Although she was crying and in so much pain, she still swam. I'm so proud.
(Aileen at the end of the meet. Note: she was still in tears at this point) Jordan Evans won high-point:
Then the scores: WE WON. EASTSIDE GOT SECOND. Duluth got THIRD. hahahaha!
And for laughs, and tradition:
X-Posted in Jellykelly06 too. Sorry.
