day five of quitting caffeine.
i have pretty much drank caffeine every day since i was about 12 years old.
i've drank a pot of coffee pretty much every day for the past 8 years. once in a while, i cut back to a pot of half-caf, or a venti drip in the morning.
this has been the hardest thing to quit ever.
the first two days i was woozy and sleepy and headachy but generally fine.
the third day it felt like i had the flu -- serious stomach aches, nausea, aching back and muscles, and complete inability to concentrate or do anything productive.
the fourth day was better.
the fifth day has been better than the fourth day. although i still feel tired all the time and miss the amped up feeling of reeling after a few cups of coffee, i woke up this morning relatively early and fully rested. i don't crash in the afternoons
this is the first time i have quit something where i haven't replaced the habit with another one. usually when i go on a diet, my caffeine intake goes up. when i quit smoking, i started eating more. when i quit booze, i'd eat ice cream. but now i've managed to give up a ton of bad habits.
week three of the caveman diet -- no rice, no bread, no grains, no vegetables that cannot be eaten raw, no sugar, no dairy.
just meat and veggies and nuts and fruits.
i have another few days of caffeine death to work out, but i feel like i'm on a good road. . .
