It pains me that this is ever needed, but it is again appropriate to mark this day in memory of John Nelson, and to let the Nelson and Ryba families know my thoughts and prayers are with them. John was a friend, a colleague, a leader; someone I could trust my safety with at any time in the field. His attitude and willingness to help those around him was an inspiration to me and the rest of the Centre County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue team, as well as anyone who ever came to make his acquaintence. John's presence will be dearly missed; his memory will live on. Rest in peace John, and may God bless you.
