Norwescon Report

Apr 12, 2009 14:49

I was just destined to be sleep-deprived this year.

Day before the convention my air-mattress burst, then early in the morning I hear a rodent in the wall next to my head. I pound on the wall and hear the window counterweight banging and a terrified, trapped rodent!   The counterweight it seems acted as a one way door, trapping it in.

I tear the window frame apart, then wedge some wood into the wall and twist, hearing the low pitched complaint sounds, I knew it was a squirrel.

Ironic... I talk to him to get the squirrel to calm down since I need my fingers near his muzzle to pry the wall away.   Whoosh, a grey streak and I have a squirrel in my room.

He found his way to the window and to the trees soon enough.

Con was fun, though we have witnessed the end of the room-party.
