general valentines guidelines
So, we're pretty much keeping this the same as last year's, since that got such a lovely response and people seem cool with doing it again. Here's the advance guideline post, just fyi. Your mods will make the actual party post on the 13th so you can comment there. <3
Part One: General Love And Rec Post!
Guidelines: When the party post goes up on the 13th, please comment--whenever you can, no stress--with one (or more! more is good!) of the following: a McFassy fic/art/other fanwork recommendation; a line of appreciation for someone(s) in the fandom; something you love about being part of this fandom…well, you get the idea. Be as specific as you can (don’t we all love seeing our works or ourselves get a mention? if you’re leaving a story rec, for example, what do you love about that story?) and appreciate or rec as many lovely people or shiny things as you want; this is about sharing the happiness, after all! Anonymous comments’re fine; for all you lurkers, readers, or watchers of the community, please do take this chance to drop by and say hi! We’re all very nice. Promise.
Deadline for Part One posts: end of the day on the 15th, or whenever, really--keep leaving happy comments forever if you feel so inclined!
Part Two: Fandom Valentines!
Completely optional, and no pressure, of course. And need not be related to whatever or whoever you mention in part one, although it can be if you’d like it to be.
Guidelines: Create a fanwork-fic, drabble, remix or spinoff or inspired-by or future adventures of; art, sketches, doodles; poetry; even something as simple as, hey, I was listening to this song and the lyrics seemed to fit this fic, let me quote them or make a playlist for you-inspired by some other fanwork in this community. Post your valentine, or post a link to it, in the general community or as a comment on this Valentines post; anonymous posts’re fine, but whether you’re being anon or not, please do give credit to the original creator: “inspired by telperion_15’s story ‘We Have A Dance,’” for example. Create as many things as you want-the more love the better! Spread the love all over the universe! No, but seriously, please think about making something sparkly for someone whose fic or art or choice of DD posts has made your life a little brighter. No word or size limit, upper or lower; only rule is that your valentine should be inspired by some other work in this fandom, and offered as a kind of sweet little thank-you.
Deadline for Part Two: shall we say…February 28th, or really whenever you finish; not like anyone will turn down a belated gift! Again, as low-stress as possible; the point is fun and spreading the love all over the universe, after all!
