Actually the Friendly slogan is Friendly's...you bet we are! but that is an untruth and hence, not enjoyable. Needless to say its been a long weekend at work in which very long agonizing hours have been put in without the money to show for it. On Saturday, we were so slow. Absolutely no one was there and in the end I worked 11 hours and didn't even make $50 in tips. This saddens me greatly and also brings me to another note. Tipping and tipping well is the RIGHT thing to do. Servers make FAR below minimum wage because of tips. Tips=our actually salary. If your server sucks, understandable to leave a small tip. But if your server is nice and smiles and gets you what you need and does his/her best to make sure you have a pleasant experience, FOR GODS SAKE LEAVE YOUR DAMN MONEY! Thats all I have to say about tipping for now.
Also, please understand that the way the food looks in the picture is not how your food is going to come out. And there is nothing that can be done about that. I had a very grumpy old man flip out because his omelet did not look like the one in the picture and insisted it was not what he ordered. It ended with him telling me I was stupid and would never amount to anything. I'll be sure to thank him when I win my Tony for Best Featured Actress in a Play.
Him and many, many, many other people. I'm so sick and tired of hearing "that can't be done" "It will never happen" "thats so stupid" etc etc etc. When will I get to hear "you know what? That IS possible and I believe in you." That would be true greatness. While I must admit, it is a bit of a motivational drive to prove the world wrong, it is also, being a paradox, the worst feeling in the world, knowing you're putting your whole heart and soul into something that everyone around you is just waiting to see you fail at. For now, I just keep rolling on.
One month and four days to 21. Woo hoo!! One month and seven days to opening night. Wooo hooo!!! And one month and ten days to Colorado. WOOOOOOO HOOOOO!!!!
See? No matter what, I have so much to look forward too.
