The German program is great, but you will definitely work for As in it. Dr. Esa, whom you've probably met since you've been doing German-American Day, is (I think) the only full-time professor in the dept. right now, as I've heard Dr. Upman retired. Esa is a great teacher, but he is very demanding.

Dorms are merely OK; apartments (particularly North Village) and the PA Avenue houses are where the real decent housing is. If something is broken wherever you're living, don't be afraid to throw your weight around with the RA or Residence Life to get it fixed.

Don't know about wrestling or environmental policy.

I have to say that if you genuinely do want to go to college to learn and not just for a degree, I think you'll enjoy McDaniel a lot. That is the same perspective that I look at college from and I often cannot sympathize with the complaints of others for that reason. There are many teachers that I feel are great because they try to challenge students as students or as learners, and a lot of students whine about what I view as opportunities. So if you truly like challenging yourself as a learner, those teachers (Dr. Esa is a case in point) are awesome.
