so on friday after work Jewis and i did a photoshoot for Sarah G. that maybe did not go so well. first it was discovered that her pentax would not advance frames. no problem; bring in the two backup cameras. then three rolls of film went missing. additionally, the "giant bathroom" we were supposed to be shooting in turned out to be roughly the size of a queen bed, and was somehow composed of two rooms. then it came to light that i had totally worn the wrong shoes and had to borrow a pair. it should come as no surprise to anyone who is aware of my relationship with luck that they were 3 1/2 sizes too small. i wore them for three hours. thankfully, there were eight bottles of champagne and two bottles of wine present to distract from the difficulties. so who knows? there may be a good shot yet, as Sarah was the very portrait of professionalism throughout and even brought klieg lights and an assistant!
last night was detroit. Steven, Paul D. and i hit the magic stick, where we met up with Jim, Dena, Vince, Neal, Natalie (Neal's new piece of crazy) and Levon. haha Levon, that is another story all together. the highlight of this part of the evening was Jim's heartfelt apology for the night in winter 2003 when he urinated on my shoes as we stood outside a party. i think those two years in prison must have done something for him.
from there we headed to F-nite, the new location of Sass, which frankly sucked. sucked franks.
on to CAID where we ran into Neil, Larry, Thommy, and B. Tidswell, among others. the highlight of this event occurred when my friend Jonny showed up. spotting him through the crowd, i pointed my index finger toward his face. as he walked up to our group he proceeded to take said finger in his mouth and bite down AS HARD AS HE COULD, resulting in two (somewhat deep and definitely bloody) puncture wounds. Neil, having observed this, advised that human bites are very dangerous due to the high possibility of bacterial transmission, and recommended cauterization. while Neil is technically an architect and not a doctor, i had to agree. Neil then used lighted matches to stop the bleeding on the wounds. it took three matches (and one painful miss) but we got the job done. oh and Jonny bought my drinks for the rest of the evening! he's a good guy.
today i went grocery shopping and caught up on my BBC Radio 4 soaps. then i played world of warcraft for a couple hours, watched 'Stepford Wives' and '13 Going on 30' and listened to 'Confessions of A Broken Heart (Father to Daughter)' by Lohan a few times. you know, just chilled. oh and i watched that new Courteney Cox show 'Dirt.' it's basically sweet.
Quality Time Sundays are in for 2007.
