Hey gang. Since I had a delightful time playing "let's make resolutions!" last year, I thought I'd do it again *this* year. For those who don't remember, I have a short attention span and can't seem to make a resolution last for an entire year. SO, I pick resolutions that fit the month, and the number of resolutions is the same as the numerical value of the month (Januaray=1 resolution, February=2 resolutions, March=3 resolutions, etc.).
January's was simple..."Use more British slang in my everyday conversation." I forgot how many British slang words I already use..."brilliant," "smarmy," "loo," and "bollocks," among others. The new ones that I liked the best were "cock up" (to mess something up), "spend a penny" (use the restroom), "total pants" (used interchangeably with "total crap"), and "ace" (fantastic).
February is simple-ish, as well...one resolution is to write at least one haiku a week...about what's happened/happening in my life that week. If more happen to be written, it is not against the resolution rule. The second resolution is to get a proper snogging before the month is out. How will this happen? I don't know...I primarily hang out with the gays and the taken...so, it looks like my resolution may be in grave danger. If anyone knows of someone to help me out (or is willing to take on this daunting task themselves), let me know...
I've already learned a smattering of Irish pub songs, so that's out for March, but I feel it should be something Irish...I have to think about them a month in advance, otherwise it ends up being the 14th of the month, and I don't yet have a resolution. BUT. So far, so good. That's all I really have to say...not much of consequence, just what's going in Chi-town...
