Finally finished FFXIII - thoughts~

I think FFXIII is, like all FF's, an awesome game and far better then any JRPG this gen (except maybe Lost Odyssey!). Some stuff I liked or disliked: (no spoilarz!)

Pros --
* First 15-20 hours of the story are awesome. The character driven, very relatable heavy topics are very cool. After that it's the cliche 'saving the world' story.
* Presentation, graphics... omg! There is simply no competition for this.
* As a turn-based person I never liked a real-time combat system. This is by far the best I've seen and actually really enjoyable for me to play.
* Hope (and Sazh), a kid who has one of the more (most?) interesting storylines in a JRPG? omg! JRPG's seem to know how to do a parent / child storyline.

Cons -- (nitpicking)
* At times there was too much fighting compared to how fast the story progressed. I don't mind the linearity (might actually prefer it) but I wouldn't mind if the game had simply less fighting/grinding in it.
* Music overall wasn't as great as previous FF's. Uematsu plz!
* Vanille... seems like every JRPG has types like this, it's so JP~ish. It's not a big deal but it does have some 'wtf?!?' moments.
* The bad guys / the way all the stories ended. It felt a bit rushed, especially after chapter 11, I wished they would have spent more time on the story and less on the open world of chapter 11+

Now bring on FFXIV!
