I finally got my hands on a Jekyll and Hyde cd, and omg, its so frickin awesome. It has to be one of the best musicals ever. And I was so happily surprised, because Anthony Warlow is on this reocrding, and I love love loved him as Enjolras in Les Mis. His voice is just amazing. The cd I have now, is actually the original recording, the one before it hit Broadway, and after watching clips from teh Broadway show, it is waaaay different. They made alot of changes, and they also took out a song I really liked called "Bring On The Men", and replaced it with a song called "Good and Evil", which isn't quite as good. Linda Eder is still Lucy in my version though, which i find interesting. But I love her voice, so I'm happy with that.
I also took the time to look up clips with other actors as Jekyll and Hyde, but I find no one is quite as good as Anthony. Hasslehoff's Hyde wasn't too bad, but he seemed to overdue it in some scenes. Cuccioli is pretty good as well. But so far, Anthony Warlow is the best, in my opinion. His voice is just so sexy. He's also doing the Phantom in Australia, but clips from that were kinda shoddy.
I just wish Broadway hadn't made all those changes to the musical for J&H, because I like the original recording so much better than the Broadway one. It could be, though, Hasslehoff just ruined it for me >.< Though, I'm now questioning how certain changes they made are affecting their versions of this musical, thats for sure.
