How much do I love that you chose that bit. I thought I was the only one who noticed that! That touch was so... descriptive.

Thank you very much, it's one of my most favourite McBeck moments. I think I like this one even better than the kiss from "Duet"...

Yeah, I remember the first time I saw that bit, and it was like "Um. They are. So married." :) Not exactly subtle. I wonder how someone can for one second seriously consider McShep, if they see this...

"Um. They are. So married."

Heh. Oh definitely. Even if you pretend that they're not oh so gay for each other, that touch was perfect evidence of how close they are as friends; I don't think Rodney would have allowed anyone else to touch him like that or reacted to it in as business-as-usual a way as that. It was just so... like they were talking each other's language. You know?

(And since you mentioned "Duet"... I have to admit that that kiss is not very high on my list of the most "McBeck-y" moments of all times. It was mostly due to Cadman, after all. But oh my, the scene in Sateda, for example? Where Rodney tries to take the gun away from Carson? Aaaaw, he's so looking after his hubby!)

*is getting nostalgic for this pairing*

By the way, I have to say, thank you for setting up this challenge. Even though I haven't yet had the time to participate, seeing all of these new stories has got my McBeck muse working and caused me to dig out some of my WIPs and type in a few lines.

Exactly. I loved the so-in-passing nature of the gesture. I was arguing with people that you don't do this with someone you're not very close to. I agree that it does not necessarily include having a sexual relationship of any sort (one can hope, though...). Somehow I was the only one who felt that there was more to that gesture.

"It was just so... like they were talking each other's language. You know?"

Oh, yes. That metaphor's just perfect. They are so good together, on exactly the same wave-length. It's a tiny gesture, but so tale-telling, because it's subtle.

"But oh my, the scene in Sateda, for example? Where Rodney tries to take the gun away from Carson?"

No, I can't remember offhand. Well, another reason to re-watch season one and two... *g*

"By the way, I have to say, thank you for setting up this challenge."Thank you very much. I felt so overwhelmed (and not the good way) by the flood of ( ... )
