Not only do I need a new wireless phone I seem to need a new wireless phone company

In a previous post I talk about the demise of my wireless phone. Well much to my surprise Sprint won't take my money. I am more than willing to pay for a new phone but due to the Sprint - Nextel merger their computer systems are all messed up and they won't sell me a new phone despite how much I ask. So... I think it might be time to go to a new company. I could certain understand if it took 12 even 24 hours to move my account from Sprint to the new combined company's systems but I tried to get a phone Friday and again today and still no luck and no one will tell me home much longer I have to wait. The completel lack of information and effort by Sprints Customer service personnel is staggering. The one technician Friday thought it might be two weeks. WFT???

I thinking about going to Verizon. Anyone want to make a suggestion? It's a shame as I have been with Sprint many years and most of my family is with Sprint but with customer service like this and the need to have a cell phone for some upcoming business travel I am going to have to move on.
