So Monday I picked up a used Burley bike trailer from a friend of a co-worker. It's been well used but still in good shape and even used it's a far superior trailer to anything I could have gotten new for the same price. Last night after a quick test ride around the block empty, Abby and I took a ride two blocks over to visit with Grandma and Pap-pap (my parents). She was a little hesitant on her first ride but in the end like it. You can see the apprehension in the picture below as I had just loaded her up.
Tonight we went on a longer ride over to Na'nah's house (GFWTR's mom) for dinner. After dinner we rode over to the ice cream store for dessert and then rode home. It was a bit over 3.5 miles and Abby had a blast. We ride by the fairground and there was two horse out in the coral near the sidewalk. Abby was very excited seeing them. I knew she like the ride when I looked back on the way there and she was drinking from her sippy-cup and when we got to Na'nah's house she has taken off her sandals. When she is getting comfortable in her car seat she does the same things.
ETA: Yes she is wearing mittens and no it is nowhere near cold enough to need them. She is an independent little girl, that knows what she wants.
ETA2: For those of the more cautious bent don't worry Abby has already requested her own bike helmet and she wants a blue one, like daddy's. She will have it before the next ride.
