Introducing... Abigail Jane Birch
Its been an amazing two days. "Little Miss" Abigail Jane Birch was born this morning July 15th, 2008 at 11:42AM. She came into this world with good healthy screams to announce her presence and weighed 6lbs 15.2oz and was 18.75 inches long. She is very healthy and is acclimating to life in her new world well. She was 8 days over due and after a long wait she came into this world in a hair raising bustle of nurses and doctors with her and GFWTR narrowly avoiding an emergency C-section. As I write this both are happily and peacefully sleeping off the excitement scratch that before I could finish the post it was feeding time again.
Here's a nice picture of her just after a nice bath this afternoon. The hat was chosen by yours truly. Thankfully she appears to have gotten her mothers good looks and although the jury is still out at this point, as hair color often changes in the early months, it looks like there is a chance she might have GFWTR's red hair.
As I finally get to finish this post both are once again happily sleep away.
