Last night, around 10 pm I ate about a third of a container of raisins. Not the supermarket brand of raisins mind you; the ones that come in a tall round paper package and cost $3.59. No, I settled on the Newman's (as in Paul Newman, the actor, started his own brand of food) organic raisins, purchased at Whole Foods for a whopping $4.99. When I bought this I wondered if it would have been like going into a store in the 1950's and buying a Swanson frozen dinner, only it was Gloria Swanson's own brand of frozen chicken pot pie.
I'm not sure why I bought that brand of raisins, but it probably seemed like a good idea at the time. And you know, they were actually better than the supermarket brand, much more plump and redder in color.
