A word on common sense in the workplace...

OK, Having been the manager of a retail store and the Asst. Manager of the store I currently work in I understand the need to stay within your budgeted hours. I also understand the use of 'flex' time... or sending people home to save the company money because you arent busy enough to financially have their hours make sense. I get that...

What I dont get, is how someone can become a D.M. and NOT understand that hurting the store by FORCING flex time is counter-productive. If you have people who have to be trained or certified, sending them home to save the company hours is hurting the company. You are keeping someone on payroll who will never be able to do their job properly JUST to save less money than if you allowed the person to learn. That's part one...

Part two is this... If someone is SALARIED... sending them home in order to save the company money is futile.

Whats even worse is that if it is explained to you... and you STILL dont get it, how can you keep your job? How is it possible that you can get angry at the person explaining it to you and write them up for it?!

This is what happened at work on sunday and today...

So I am home early... still getting paid... and my Manager is being written up because she dared to talk sense to our DM who cant seem to grasp the concept.

WTF seriously
