rowlikewowHey. Did any of you happen to notice how dangerously close to Christmas we've gotten? I was off doing something, certainly not paying any attention, and suddenly here it is: Christmas.
Needless to say, I'm not exactly ready. The closest thing to actual preparations I've made thus far has been mostly regarding the watering of the poinsettia on my desk at work. It seems to go all wilted if you ignore it for too long, and if it dies, it won't be any fun to throw away on the first work day following New Years. (This is a bit of a tradition I started by myself last year. It really is a great way to officially close out the holiday season.)
So tomorrow I'll be taking care of my Christmas shopping at the absolute last second, as usual. We'll also be having our department's holiday party, rescheduled from last Friday (when we received a foot of snow). Tomorrow we're getting a much more reasonable and much less disruptive 6" of snow, followed by another 6" on Wednesday. It's nice having it all spread out over a few days. That way it's harder to imagine a time when it didn't snow daily/nightly. Not having the imagery of comfortable weather floating around your head tends to slow down the inevitable winter depression.
In any case, if I don't make it back online before I head to Racine for family related business, please enjoy your Holiday/Christmas/Thursday/Whatever!
