What Can Brown No Longer Do For You?

Hello all,

...and just like that, I'm back.

I've been a bit hesitant to do any sort of social interaction online, following the election.  Actually, now that I think about, I've been avoiding most real-world interactions as well.  I've also neglected interacting with the cleaning supplies necessary to keep my apartment in livable condition.  I just assumed that, now that the party of big government is in charge, it's only a matter of time before the Department of Apartment Cleanliness is established, and g-men should be showing up to vacuum my carpet, clear my surfaces, and remove my empty soda cans any day now.  It may be late January/early February before anything happens, though.  I understand there are a few problems with the economy that may require a higher priority of attention than my laundry, at least to begin with.

Historically speaking, my various living spaces over the past decade have never been very tidy, but I used to have a boyfriend who took care of the apartment; I do still actually have a boyfriend, but he went and got a job, so now I feel especially bad leaving it all to him.  As opposed to the standard yet acceptable sort of bad I felt before he was employed.

Speaking of which, in Sanjit's first week at his new job, he had to dodge a crew from our local Fox affiliate's investigative reporter squad.  I would love to post the actual piece from their newscast (it's fantastic!), but in the interest of protecting privacy, I probably shouldn't go posting it on public forums.  It's pretty exciting, though.  Only a week in the workforce and he's already had the opportunity to be chased into his office by a reporter!
