Uh Oh, Wyan must be Sweepy

Hello all,

I'm feeling a little inexplicably irritable today. Don't worry, the piss and vinegar isn't aimed at anyone in particular, certainly not at any of you fine, upright and outstanding individuals. My co-workers and I are playing fill-in for a member of our team who's on vacation this week. Unfortunately, this guy's workload is anything but appealing, so I have a feeling the disruption of my usual routine is at the root of my negativity.

In all fairness, life isn't too bad, even considering the extra work. After this two-hour lunch ends (my company had our last summer cookout today), the next item on my to-do list, for example, is to purchase a badminton set for the office. We've been having trouble getting to the ping-pong table recently due to a couple d-bags from sales who camp out and steal it, so badminton seemed like a natural alternative. Plus, and I don't mean to brag, I'm a bit amazing as far as badminton goes.

There is a twist to this task, though, in case it buys me some sympathy: my corporate card is AMEX, which makes it pretty much useless while shopping the obscure little e-shops that sell badminton supplies.

Lunch is wrapping up now (t minus negative 20 minutes as of now, oops), so I should get back to the matters at hand, but before I go, I would like to chime in on Hillary's speech last night. I've seen a lot of gushing this morning on the blogs and even a bit here on livejournal, and maybe it's just me feeling a little miffed at what a giant bunch of pussys the Dems have been thus far at their convention, but I wasn't extremely impressed. She only cryptically mentioned reproductive rights (which, I imagine, has something to do with her selling-out to the conservative arm of the party during the primaries. She wouldn't want to upset her new base). And she mostly went after McCain and the Republicans in a sort of abstract, yes-to-the-future sort of way. We have 8 years of actual material to use against these sons of bitches and the best we can come up with is, "yay future!" I'm holding out hope for Bill and Biden tonight. If anyone can appropriately nail these fuckers to the wall, it's those two. If it's all softball lobbing again, I'm going to be even more irritable tomorrow.

muchlove,

Ry-
