I Remember When You Were *This* Tall!

My little sister graduated high-school a few weeks back and the family got together this past weekend for the required celebration. I think this may be the first opportunity I've had to say to a 100% adult, "I babysat you when you were in diapers." In all fairness, I didn't say it, but I could have. I think somewhere within that whole situation is the small distinction between getting old, being old, and demonstrating ones oldness. Luckily, I think I'm still in stage one, and my sister still looks like she's 12, so hopefully I still have a few good years in me.

Aside from that, I've been keeping busy enough. I'm going to avoid talking about work too much, but it obviously has a lot to do with my lack of time available to update livejournal. I'll only say that I'm burned out to the extent that I've seriously made a half-hearted commitment to begin thinking about the process of considering the possibilities of seeking out a new employer. Unfortunately, as someone who interviews potential candidates for my team, I know exactly how terrible the job market is right now, so that definitely complicates things. My first step to avoid a breakdown was to schedule a nice 10-day block of PTO beginning this Friday. I'm hoping it goes a long way in refreshing my ability to care about this place.

mental stability, work
