march madness
Ive come to realize that march madness has more than one meaning. Yes, sportsfans, it is the month of the NCAA Tournament, the Tourney, the bracket making, pool winning. However, it is also the month of planning for prom, an event, that like the Tournament, will be eventful, sad, upsetting, yet altogether one huge celebration of what these teams, and friends, have done in the past year (or in our case, 4 years)
Some may be wondering why i chose to be in the limo i did. I think the biggest reason is that I knew that with the kids i am going with, they all have pretty much the same idea: have fun. Fuck popularity, fuck inhibition, go out and celebrate at the club, in the limo and all weekend at Seaside. Most of these kids dont care who you are, they just want to party. They can have fun regaardless of where they are, and as friends, will compromise as such. Now, by no means am i saying that these are the only ppl who can do this, but it seems to me, that since they all have the same goal, they also all plan on achieveing it the same way. and for this reason, they go without drama.
Sometimes i feel like i have the ability to be friends with two groups of kids, equally important to me. i know this post now sounds conceited and longwinded and just plain whiny, but HOMIE GOTTA KNOW. I value friendship equally. but it sucks that everyone cant chill together in school. BUT the thing is, on prom, everyone chills together. and for everyone who doesnt like other ppl and is unwilling to give others a chance put your fucking tampon back in and SHUT UP. i fear that i have just dug my own grave. Underclassmen plannning are only trying to help. why not let them? who cares if they are underclassmen. and this honesty bullshit. NO ONE does that in "real life" you say shit to me like that and i lose all respect to you. what is going on here is disrepect, not honesty. you can be honest respectfully. otherwise, id think twice about who im calling my friends.
TO be honest (ironic, no?), i have no idea the reaction im going to get. ALthough it think it will fall between :what a dick, hes not even part of this but he comments, or, perhaps he might have somthing or: who gives a shit what he has to think hes a perverted idiot. but hey, thems the breaks. think what you will. i just think that the whole point of prom is to be happy and chill with all your friends, a huge celebration of ending the first major event of your life, leading into adulthood. who cares with who and how you spend it. the key is being able to have fun with ppl you love. (ahh james, its that word) which is why, if i can go to seaside and my parents peel the swastika off their arm, i would love if all of you would be there too. If i cannot go and i am stuck at home all weekend, i know we will all party elsewhere, however i will still be angry with my ass monkey parents.
so relax, enjoy the rest of the year. get it all planned then forget about it. we're seniors for gods sake. ENJOY THIS SHIT
