I was walking to class today and i saw a sign for a church. It said " DOES YOUR LIFE HAVE PURPOSE?" i walked up to and read what it said under those big bold letters. wure it does. why does god even need to figure into questions of purpose in life? it seems to me that if my life is going to have purpose(and not necessarily one single purpose, but purpose in general), it will be due to the choices i've made and not to please a god. i think those signs like the one you saw are used by the church to scare people into faith. they're really saying,"does your life have a purpose? it doesn't? well, here ya go, i'll give you purpose. god! believe in god and you won't have to think anymore about your purpose because your purpose is now to live a devout life and follow god." whatever that means. so, this is my view on life purpose. ask yourself questions. learn as much as you possibly can. be open-minded and be accepting and think about things from different angles. make big mistakes, but be willing to admit and learn from them. ask yourself everyday if you're living your life the way you want to or if you're following someone else's plan. the truth is that no one knows what happens after death, but you can have your own ideas about it. and if you live your life as a good person, someone who is kind and helps others and works each day to become a better, happier human being, then your life has had purpose and it has been fulfilling.

these are just my ideas this morning. they may change next week; i'm still learning too.
