[music|Harry Potter theme song going through my head]
Before I get into the awesomness that was yesterday, let me just announce to those people who keep asking and are hoping that I will be coming into Tampa next weekend. It's not going to happen, I'm sorry! I honestly never thought I'd actually ever make it there, but it was a nice thought to help me get through the past month.
Onwards to yesterday! First off, we got pedicures yesterday - and that just makes anyday good! My toes are so cute now!
I beat Kingdom Hearts II!!! YaY!!! Now all I have to do is go back through and attempt to finish off Jimminey's Journal (I'm at 90% now) and re-beat the game to get the special, secret ending. However, I may have to resort to simply finding the vid online as Sephiroth is damn impossible to defeat. He kills me in like .8 seconds, not cool!
And lastly, HARRY POTTER! Marnie and I went and saw the show at 12:15 last night and we really liked it. Of course, there are things that I liked and didn't like about it, for instance - the book was better! lol
Because it is so much fun to complain, let's start with what I didn't like.
1. I know that most people are annoyed by Harry through the the begining and ending of the book because he's all yelling and whining and an annoying teenager. I really wish, however, that Harry had actually yelled a bit during the movie. Like when he's pissy at Ron and Hermione at the Black house. Fred/George say they heard his "dulcet tones" (right out of the book! :) and yet Harry wasn't really yelling. And he doesn't yell at the end when Dumbledore is talking to him after the battle. OK, there's a reason as to why Harry only speaks/yells in ALL CAPS for a long time. He's mad and YELLING. Let hte boy yell! When I re-read this book, I read the end scene between Dumbledore and Harry with Daniel as Harry. So, it was dissapointing not to see it pan out that way.
2. I swear Luna used the Levicorpous curse on a Death Eater. Harry doesn't discover this curse until the next book (unless you count Snapes Worst Memory which in the movie that curse isn't said during that time I don't believe).
3. Harry is using magic without speaking, I'm pretty certain that is something that they learn in book 6 not 5 - and Harry sucks at it anyways.
4. Now, I know this is stupid. But Cho didn't rat the DA out, her friend Midge or whatever her name is did. However, I understand that they didn't want to introduce another minor charecter blah blah blah.
5. I missed the actual way the twins leave Hogwarts, with the bog and all. And one of my fav lines, "Give her hell for us, Peeves" I knew that wouldn't be in there, obviously, due to there being no Peeves in movieland but still sad.
Things I liked:
1. Luna was great, I loved her and weird ways!
2. I hated Umbrige - so yeah, she was good. She had the little cough and giggle thing down.
3. Grawp/Hermione. That was really cute her ordering him to put her down and then Ron getting all defense and then the bit with the bike bell!
4. Harry's inward fight with Voldemort and anytime Harry did the creepy Voldy neck thing. I was rather impressed with Daniel on that bit. He's come a long way from the frist movie going "Ow! My scar hurts" *rubs forehead* In my opinion at least.
5. Sirius calling Harry James during the battle. That just made me smile and tear up a bit.
6. Helena Bonham-Carter as Belatrix Lestrange. Other than the fact that I just love her and think she's amazing - she did a really good job with the part I think. I also liked the way she went up the fireplace - weird, I know, but it just looked cool!
I hope they leave the Lupin/Tonks in there, but I don't see that happening. I mean, Bill and Charlie got completly cut out of the movies and I don't see Fleur reappearing to marry Bill anytime in the movie's future. I can't wait for some Harry/Ginny and Ron/Hermione! I also just want to say, I think it very funny that Hermione's Patronus is an otter, which is very similar looking to a ferret, which is what Draco was transfigured into in 4. Just saying is all.
