We're home safely from GaFilk. Our plane was supposed to push back at 7, but was delayed until 7:30 because the incoming plane was late. The storm, which we thought was going to hit around 10 was also rescheduled, and arrived about 8. We still weren't up.
My one moment of consternation came when our seat-mate explained to us that she'd been told that Georgia doesn't have de-icing machines. But she admitted she'd been misinformed when faced with the evidence.
I was quite relieved when we finally took off. The amount of red on the screens we left behind in the airport made me wonder if they were closing the runways behind us.
The con. Highlights for me were the time spent with friends I see all too infrequently, especially conversations with J., M., and D. who flattered me immensely. Low points included an event or two that left me feeling... I don't know if it is despised or beneath the notice of folks. Thoughts of the aforementioned friends help me drag myself back from the various yawning abysses of my psyche.
Another highlight was dining in the airport with G. and C. who had similar timing and were leaving from the same terminal. I happily got my fix of the art between T and A as well.
And now, to bed.
