Got up about an hour earlier than I did yesterday, scraped the frost from the car, and guided it to our polling location. Evaded all the folks who wanted to give me last-minute suggestions, and got in line. Yes -- LINE -- for a non-presidential election. Usually on the off-times, there is no wait at all, but the line went out the door and past the stairs. The workers said it had been like that since they opened. I got there about 7:35 -- up to the desk by about 7:45 -- and I was number 61. Wow.
