... so to speak. Once again, I'm being dragged kicking and screaming into the 20th century. :-)
I don't have a smart phone. I keep saying I don't want one, but each time I say that it is with less conviction.
I did have a Palm, which I got under suspicious circumstances from my spouse. I don't know where it is. I got a Sony palm-thing on which I actually installed a program... but it needs to stay plugged in, or it goes OTL, so it has little utility. Then, much later, I got a Garmin GPS/Palm, which I use as a GPS and a sudoko player. But I leave it in the car, and have not installed books on it.
Just got mail from eReader (which is the successor to something which I think was called Palm Digital Media) that they're going away, but for a limited time I can move my library over to a Nook library.
No, I don't have one of them either. (And although iTunes is the default to play any sort of media player on my maintained-by-work work computer, I always say "I do not accept" to the splash screen, so I'm not there either.)
But I got curious and went out to the eReader website.
Wow. There are more things than I recalled. Going back further than I realized.
It must have been from somewhere else that I glommed onto my (probably free) copies of "5 children and it" and " Fairy Tales" which I remember reading in the tub.
There were actually 13 books out there that I bought for the palm. + 2 programs.
11/27/2003 I bought a book that I'd been wanting to read to the spouse, which I knew I owned, but which I couldn't find: Serpents Reach.
1/23/2004 A coworker recommended a book strongly, and I bought it: Between Silk and Cyanide. At the same time I bought Beggars in Spain.
4/29/2004 Having heard the author speak on it (and read from it), I bought The Speed of Dark. (At the same time I obtained a Dictionary and Thesaurus.)
3/29/2005 I downloaded a reader program and a font pack -- I think what I had for free wouldn't access the dictionary so I needed the pro version. With it I got 7 books I haven't even considered reading.
So I have 4 books and some reference materials I would rather keep. So I guess I need to (kick, scream) get a Nook library thingy on-line to keep them in.
Although I don't have a Nook, or indeed any kind of e-reader.
