Lesson #2:
Never make a call with your credit card internationally from a payphone in Madrid. No matter how sad, or lonely, or freakin scared you are, just don´t do it. Because in 20 minutes you will have racked up hundreds of dollars.
Spain seriously has got life figured out. We definitely need to take lessons from them. So far this is what my life has been like, go to orientation, come home for lunch (which is the biggest meal of the day and is like the family time), seista for a couple hours get my ass up and get ready for a night out on the town.
Every freaking day from 2-5 life just shuts down in the city. Stores, and such just close down, and people go home and spend time with their family. It´s so cool.
Life here is just slower, and more relaxed. People care more about their family, friends, and having a good time then working hard to get rich.
The nightlife here is freaking awsome. The first night here was pretty chill, we just hung out at like an outside bar and chilled and went to a bar. Ironically it was Irish pub called O´Neils. It was mostly just our group but our brazilian bartender was awsome. I am not gonna lie, life is pretty random here.
Last night, one of the CEA alumni who moved here and bought a bar took us out. He took us to all of the cool spots and got us all free drinks. I love sangria. It´s so delicious. I had the best time, I stayed up until like 5:30 or 6 and then didn´t get up until after 2 this afternoon, just in time to have lunch that our Señora Lina made for us.
Lina is my house mom, or as we call her our Señora. I have two roomates Emily, and Ali. They are pretty cool. We are a really good group. The other night the three of us came home a little tipsy and Lina was still awake when we got home at like 3 am. She came and hugged us all and made us some cheese and bread to snack on and just talked for hours.
Well I am out, my roomies and I are going to go to tapas bar and drink some sangria. Hasta Luego mi amores.
