I'm a wee bit excited to squeeze my wife in the lift and yet yours isn't there. Is she bailing you out?

Three reasons. One, I figure I should expand my answers to include more than just her for everything. Two, it probably ain't an enjoyable experience and I don't want to doom her to being stuck in a lift for god only knows how long, particularly if we have to resort to cannibalism. Three, I assume that she won't leave me in there forever and will go to get help. So you see, I had good logic in all of this.

That's fair. And while we're in the lift, you and I can talk about Wagner while Cheryl claws the doors open with her bare hands. Simon is there for moral support and panto.

I have to admit I was quite intimidated by you (this coming from someone who works with Giant Jeremy I'm an Arse Clarkson) and yet you've been remarkable. Yes, you are frightfully honest about your intentions but it's refreshing. I'm remarkably grateful to have had the chance to get to know you and I hope loads more people take an opportunity to.

Thanks, mate. I don't know what was ever so intimidating about me but I'm glad for the endorsement to the contrary. You're one of the few who takes the time to consistently wade through the ocean of words that is my journal and I appreciate that. I still have to work in the time to serenade my bird.

It's pretty sad that I've never seen any of David Lynch's work. I really do need to. I like your updates, I'm just so crummy at commenting. I'm going to try to get better.

I love all of his surreal and cerebral stuff but I think my favourite will always be The Elephant Man just for how it still moves me every time I watch it. Thanks, mate. I can be rubbish at commenting too so no worries, really.

I didn't know The Elephant Man was his! Okay, I have seen one, at least!

It's different from most of his work so I forget sometimes too. He and I are mates now and it's hard to resist gushing about it in his presence.
