yes, the show should have just ended then. no use wasting the film on the rest of the series.

Definitely. I think Charlie leaving the show is a better ending to the series than Jen dying.

No, no. Jen was a good factor of the show, but her dying was so.. sad. Depressing. Charlie leaving was depressing but if they ended the show when he left, then the thoughts of, "did dawson and joey ever get back together?" would still be there. But No. They go on and forget all about Charlie Todd.
