If you are recieving this email, you are considered a valued member of the community, youv'e been in After Celebrity for quite some time, have been or are a maintainer, and/or are a talented writer/rp-er. This is a plea to get AC back on track. What we are proposing is this, step up your game and lead by example. After Celebrity has always been a place where people come and go, get their feet wet in the RP game/get experience, and house some of the best writers in the RP circuit. Hopefully you will all take this seriously, as we want to keep the same standard of excellence in AC and don't want to see it fade away.

The "plan for After Celebrity".

As talented writers, and people who care about the game, we urge that you "step up your game." There's new people joining After Celebrity daily and just a simple comment in their red_carpet post can really make an impact on how the game is played, as well as makes new friends for your your character. A good example of this is Willa Ford. She religiously comments all new members at some point, welcoming them. Think when you first join an RP, isn't it nice to get comments? to feel welcome in the group? We want that to be what AC is about.

Leading by example. What this means is that we are holding these new writers and in some cases old writers to high standards and we ourselves need to focus on how we play the game. Recently two posts were made by Gale and Billy that were more or less "tools" on how to RP. What we propose: Researching your character and making frequent updates about their goings on. A good example would be someone like JC, Tony, & Britney. Their characters are all out promoting upcoming albums, tours, singles, etc and can easily type into yahoo "columbus, oh" to learn about the city their character is in. Talk about the city, the people, fan response, where the label has you. If anything else it will make your journal more enjoyable for you in the long run. You can look back on it as a nice memory of where your character was at that point in time. Someone who does this a lot is Keri Russell. Her updates are always talking about where Keri's at, or what she's up to. Most of our characters have "official sites" as well as many "fan sites". check them out. See what's going on in your characters life. Also, check Wire Image for pictures. You never know when your celebrity might pop up at an event and that in itself is an instant update/storyline.

If the other's in the community see that we "care" about our character, they will then care about theirs and we won't have a friends page full of Meme's or posts about how they were at an awards show with someone in AC who in the game was in another country. When you actually show an invested interest in your character, others do too. It's almost a trickle effect.

AIM: Be active. Constant away messages and outdated lists are not effective RP'ing. Need a new aim list? Contact people like Willa Ford who just updated her list. Justin Timberlake who updates his regularly. It helps cut back on the teenie im's and helps to establish friendships, storylines, general good times. IM people first. Don't be afraid or expect them to IM you first. We've been around long enough that we can take that leap to make other's feel welcome.

Ficticious/"friend of-family of" Celebrities: Just because Heather Chasez is a sister to a pop-star and isn't in the media, doesn't mean her character should lack and suffer. Remember, you/these writers chose to play this character, so make them real. Someone like Laura Carruba can totally invent a storyline involving her job, her family, her interaction with friends/celebrities. A character like Nick Chastain gives you so much lee-way to basically CREATE them to be what you want. Just pay attention to the celebrity your character relates to, and use that to your advantage.

In conclusion, After Celebrity went through a really bad time this winter. Let's use this tool and the new season as a way to getting OUR AC back. An AC that is fun, mature, and free from upset drama. Think about your actions and how they will affect your IC relationships and your OOC friendships. Make your character matter again. Don't use excuses like, "people don't like me ic and ooc" or "no one im's me". Randomly comment journals, read your friends page, update your journal and do all of this and include your aim screen name as your "signature." It does work. Don't make excuses and complain the game isn't fun anymore when you hold the game in your hands. If we all actively make an effort to comment journals and update our own we will get OUR AC back. Let's show these kids what we're made of and above all things, lets have a damn good time again. Drop the beef's and drama you may have had with someone in the past and don't let it affect your recreational gaming. There's a reason people copy AC, we're the best. Hopefully you'll all take this to mind and let's keep up the good job.
