Surviving Globalization

I am very proud that many of you on this list are already upgrading skills and knowledge set as we must be diligent with our continuing education and our ability to provide for ourselves and the people we love no matter what globalization does.

For some time I have known that education in places like India and China has not only caught up with us but at many levels surpassed ours.  But not until today did I get full confirmation of that.

As part of my dynamic approach for synchronizing my quest with job market opportunities I often allow for calls from interested employers to influence what I will take next in my curriculum studies.  So for instance my discussions two weeks ago with a particular employer trigger me into signing up for a Drafting International Contract class.  This was a dangerous move because as useful as this class is I am already dangerously overloaded with the regulatory pharmaceutical classes.

This morning then I get a call from someone wanting a person to do their Clinical Research Management (my resume is ridiculous with 10 different type of job qualifications put into one).  So I go online to survey the best curriculum on Clinical Research to see what areas I might need to upgrade should such an opportunity materialize and to my shock the best curriculum is NOT in the United States, not even in Europe but Mumbai India of all places!

No wonder so many pharmaceutical jobs are going to India at a rate of 17% annual growth.

This Mumbai program fully integrates core knowledge of clinical research with biostatistics and MBA styles business management.  I humbly took notes from this Mumbai program and should I survive the next two sessions I will do theirs next.
