Summary: It was amazing how effortlessly Akanishi could break Kamenashi.
He leaned casually against the doorframe, arms crossed, eyes closed, listening to the screams and protests of that familiar voice, a small curve on his lips. Light-coloured bangs shielding his eyes, it was impossible to tell the reason behind the smile. 3 men joined him in the room and he finally looked up, revealing a face void of any emotions.
The 2 burlier men strapped the smallest of the trio onto a lone chair in the plain white room. The frail man’s struggles proved to be incredibly futile, the only part of him that could break free were the tears in his brown hazels.
“Any last words?”
The trapped prey glanced frantically around the white prison, eyes finally resting on the last man in the room.
“Jin… Jin, tell them I didn’t do it. Jin-“
Akanishi stooped down till he was at eye-level with the captive. His eyes were glazed, reflecting the unshed tears that shone in his partner's hazels.
“Kazuya…” he breathed affectionately, “Kazuya, what’s done cannot be undone. You have to pay the price for what you d-“
“But I didn’t! You know I didn’t!” Kazuya shrieked, trashing wildly against his binds, “I didn’t kill your mother Jin…” he continued with a choked sob.
“The court has given its verdict. Kamenashi Kazuya is guilty.”
Kazuya stared at the man before him, who was slowly straightening up. “Jin…” he called out breathlessly, feeling further away from the Jin then he really was.
“Kazuya, I would love to help you, believe me, I do. But you know what you did. My mother… I cannot set you free.”
“I didn’t!” he screamed in sheer desperation. “Don’t you trust me?”
Jin paced back and forth, seemingly pondering at his partner’s words. Kazuya eyed him unblinkingly, willing every nerve in his body to somehow convince Jin that he was not a murderer. This was after all, his Jin wasn’t it? The one whom he spent 9 precious years of his life with, the one who knew him more than he knew himself. This was the Jin who loved him as much as he loved him back, wasn’t it?
“I trusted you!” Jin suddenly lashed back, “and look at what you did to me! You betrayed me, you bloody asshole! She loved you as though you were her own son!”
Kazuya stared at the teary man, dumbfounded. A tear escaped from his lashes and he hung his head, defeated. “Jin… I didn’t” he repeated, knowing it would only fall on deaf ears.
He knew his fate was sealed. If Jin did not believe him, he did not know who else would. All he wanted to do now was to plunge into the arms of the messenger of death before him. It was sort of a comfort to die in the hands which he loved so dearly.
A rude cough broke their conversation, and 1 of the burly officers drew a piece of paper from his pocket. “May I, Akanishi-san?”
Jin nodded curtly, wiping tears away from his eyes, staring at Kazuya’s bowed head.
“Kamenashi Kazuya has been found guilty of murder of first degree of Akanishi Shizuka. The court has sentenced him to death by lethal poison.” The officer rolled back the paper and stuffed it clumsily into his pocket. “The accused has 5 minutes before the execution.”
Kazuya’s head snapped back up again, clear panic in his eyes. He directed his gaze to Jin, before letting it fall back to the polished floor. There was no way out, no escape.
“If it was possible, I’d like to carry out the execution myself.”
Kazuya felt his heart stop. Jin… Jin was the sole witness in this case. Throughout the trail he had insisted that Kamenashi has stabbed his mother in the chest without a moment of hesitation. Jin was so convincing, so alluring, even Kamenashi himself doubted his own innocence.
“I’d like to revenge my mother…” Akanishi explained, and the officers gave their approval, passing the syringe carrying death to him. “And if it was possible, I’d like to have Kamenashi’s last minutes to myself.”
3 pairs of eyes stared at him with plain curiosity before the 2 officers shuffled out of the pristine white room, too innocent to be a place of execution.
At the final click of the door, Jin allowed himself to smile, squatting in front of Kazuya again. He reached out to caress the gentle features he knew too well, feeling what would be the last traces of warmth emitted from them.
Kazuya filched back at the contact, shrinking away from the hands which once held him safe. “I didn’t kill you mother Jin, I swear-“
“I know,” came the cool reply. Jin calmly removed the stopper that prevented the deadly concoction from oozing out, letting out a gentle spray of the liquid. He turned to Kamenashi, a small victory grin on his face.
“Then why…”
“I can’t, Kazu-chan, I can’t,” he said simply, as though the 2 words were enough to explain everything. He briskly tapped on Kazuya’s arm, searching for a vein.
“Jin…”
The voice, so pleading it could break anyone’s heart, but not his. He smiled affectionately at the boy before him, looking more fragile than ever. He wiped away the tears that threatened to fall from the innocent hazels in one swift movement.
“Tell me, Kazu-chan, do you love me?”
Kazuya stared blankly at his eerily-calm partner. Swallowing, he nodded slowly, eyes desperately searching for an answer in Jin’s eyes.
“Good,” Jin patted the golden head, a childish smile splayed across his angelic face. “Then that’s all that matters.”
He leaned into Kazuya’s ear, poison flowing out of his lips in whispers that broke the boy’s heart and opened the gates that held back the tears which now flow with wild abandon.
Jin pulled back with an accomplished smirk, watching with glee as the angry eyes pierced through his soul, the bleak despair and hurt that shone in them.
He watched as the poison took its effect, causing his love to turn beautifully pale and limp, those eyes which he adored so much never leaving him. He watched the soul left the hazels and relished in the scent of death that lingered in the air.
Akanishi Jin walked to the porcelain doll slumped helpless in the chair and gently planted a kiss on his forehead.
“You are so beautiful.”
