It's happening

My frantic, want-to-pull-my-hair-out busy time at work is now in full effect. I'm going to be rather unpleasant for the next month or so. :(

Aw man! And we still haven't planned Kayaking!

Wee sister will be in town early-mid October... what's everyone's weekends look like?

Sorry I haven't been better about trying to reschedule that .. I kind of got planning fatigue since it never seemed to work out, then I got all busy at work. :(

When will she be here? I don't have any specific plans for the next few Saturdays, I just know that I'll probably have to work at some point on those weekends. But at least the time for that is usually flexible.

I think she'll be in town starting on the 10th... so any weekend thereafter?

I'm really looking forward to kayaking away someplace... when does the season end/rivers get too flooded usually?

Will she still be here the weekend of the 20th/21st? Work should have settled down some by then (although April just mentioned the Independece Brewing party that Saturday, which I'd love to go to).

The rivers around here don't generally flood unless we get a significant rain even like earlier this summer. The problem with paddling in the winter, aside from the obvious potential dangers related to water activities in the cold, is that rental places close, assuming (for the most part correctly) that people who want to paddle rivers in the winter probably have their own gear.

she'll be in town for several months, so as long as the weather's nice, we'll be good to go.

Tell me more about the Independence Brewing Party...?

It's their anniversary celebration; there's music and beer and it's free. http://www.independencebrewing.com/events/anniversary3/index.html I've never gone, but I always think it sounds fun. I guess it's in the late afternoon/evening, though, so we could probably kayak that day as well. I assumed your sister was just in for a visit, though; several months gives us more flexibility, although of course we'll have to be careful about the weather. It would probably be a good idea to try to go on either the 20th or 27th. If we wait until November we probably can't plan in advace, we'd have to wait until a few days before to see what the weather would be like.
