(no subject)
My rat Blitz died yesterday at 9:30pm.
I'd known she was going to be dead before I got home from the moment I left the house yesterday. when we woke up she was so weak that she couldnt wake up and cold barely move, even asleep. mom figured out that she had pneumonia, which rats inevitably die from anyways, so we decided to euthanize her just so she wouldnt be in pain anymore. but she ended up doing it on her own while we were all out of the house. mom found ratso (our other rat) sleeping next to her body still when we came home, so at least she wasnt alone.
so, yeah, if i seemed out of sorts yesterday, thats why.
i might be anthropomorphizing, but Ratso seems really upset. last night was the first night she's ever been alone. she keeps begging to be let out of the cage so she can sleep on our shoulders. for those of you who've met ratso, you know that she HATES being out of the cage. its only during the past month while the two of them have been sick that she's liked being handled.
anyways, yeah, thats the latest update from me. have a nice spring break, for those of you who have it this week.
