Life - starting with the Tunisia trip of 3 months ago!

Hello again world!

Sorry for yet another long delay. I currently have unlimited internet access on my Mac Mini (thanks to Lande and her brother), so I am able to type to my heart's content! I moved in with Howard & Lande in North London about 10 days ago. I'm staying here for a month or so until I can get my own place. It's weird being a Londoner again, but I'm sure I can adapt temporarily! Can't remember when I last did a proper entry (and I can't be bothered to find out), but I guess this will be the longest for a long time! I might even add some photos! So where did I leave off?...

Tunisia? I was there between 1st and 8th March. It was quite a cool story as to why I ended up going - on 7th March, I was at my friends, James & Joanna's band, Sunflies gig at The Horn in St. Albans. After the gig, a lot of people had either gone to the loo or the bar, so I decided to log onto Facebook on my mobile. My friend, Helen, someone I was at school with, had advertised a holiday to Tunisia on her profile. I asked her how much she wanted. She said it would be free apart from £40 to change the name on the ticket over plus spending money. Very spontaneously, I said 'yes'! What had happened was that her boyfriend had paid for the holiday for the 2 of them, but they split up. He owed her money, so she kept the holiday. She just needed someone else to go with her. Apparently, a male friend was going to go with her, but he pulled out as he didn't want to ruin their platonic friendship! So, I was the lucky 'winner'!

It was a fab holiday! Helen and I hadn't seen each other in 22 years, so it was a bit of a gamble! I'm happy to say, though, that we got on extremely well in Tunisia. We got to the end of the week and were certainly still speaking!

The hotel we stayed in (The Lella Baya in Yasmine Hamamet) was crazy!...

The food was great. It was very Mediterranean and spicy! Very nice and there was tons of veggie stuff.

The weather was like a hot summer in the UK... then it rained at the end of the week!

We had great fun trying to avoid shop owners trying to entice us into their shops! They were certainly very persistent!

Well, I did meet a very nice young man in Tunisia (Moez). We are in touch, but I really can't see a future for us as we're worlds apart. Not sure I'd really want to be a Muslim wife!

Well, here are a few more photos...
