1. Made this banana brown sugar ice cream (only, because none of the stores I stopped in on my way home had jaggery or piloncillo or, well, any unrefined cane sugars--I really went the wrong way home for that kind of shopping, and I was too impatient to wait another day--I used regular old brown sugar) and wow. So so good. Will be making again with proper raw cane sugar sooner than I probably should. (Which is to say: highly recommended recipe. Also vegan.)
   
   
2. Porn Battle X (Ten Big Ones) is open for prompts. For, you know, those of you who are into that kind of thing and didn't already know. (A very select bunch, indeed.) (I haven't nominated anything--yet?--but I'm vaguely hopeful that Porn Battle will help me deal with this cripplingly horrifying bout of writers' block I'm currently trying to outrun.)

4. So in honor of the case from hell settling and the fact that I don't want to have to run away to Mexico just because, I'm planning on taking a minibreak one weekend this summer. Should I a) go to NYC (cheapest busfare to go along with shortest ride, but somewhere I visit relatively often due to, well, relatives), b) go to Montreal (never been, want to go, overnight bus trip, Osheaga shut up what, poutine), c) go to DC (haven't been since high school Model UN, even overnightier bus trip than Montreal overnight train ride, Nationals game?, the Sights, etc.), d) just get a nice hotel room right here in Boston? /imaginary ticky-boxes
   
   
5. TV thoughts, abridged. Watched--and quite enjoyed--East West 101 (I just. Amina! Sonny! Lim! Pat! Amina!). Watched the pilot of Rizzoli & Isles and was a bit underwhelmed; I'm willing to give it another shot or two because, hey, Angie Harmon. Also I'm pretty forgiving when it comes to procedurals. Still haven't caught up on Treme: it's a show I want to pay attention to, you know? Complete and utter, etc., and not half-hearted, half-asleep. I also haven't finished Better off Ted, which I lovelovelovelove, because when I'm done it is Over, Finito, Doneski, and no. That is not cool. (I also love The Guild, which is now back for season four on an internet near you! And Leverage, which I forgot was back--baseball season; the only "live" show I've managed to watch is the aforementioned R&I, and that aired during the ASB--but am now excited about!) I don't care about White Collar. I just--I tried? I already miss Eleventy.
   
   
6. It's okay to watch Twilight: The Latest One if I don't pay for it. Right? Because, no, I can't financially support that. But, yes, I still want to see it even though I know it's bad and wrong and giant muffins of forgiveness and yeah.
