So. I'm back from Jersey, still too tired and exhausted all these days later, working and working while my sister honeymoons in Punta Cana. But, yes, the baby sister got all hitched, and there wasn't a shotgun in sight (there was, however: a Livin' on a Prayer sing-along, a slow dance to Jersey Girl, and over $6,000 in booze served from the open bar*). (The other sister and I are planning a holiday of our own, this fall or next spring, likely in Istanbul-- though we're open to suggestions from people about places we absolutely need to go. No, really. Recommend some awesome vacation spots. Or don't. Hide them all away so they never get overrun with crazy tourists.)
The Celtics just won game four, and the cheering shook my ceiling. People were celebrating all down my street, laughing and shouting and happy (I can still hear the occasional, "bye!" and giggling and cars driving away). I can't imagine what it'll sound like if they win it-- okay, that's a lie, I've lived here long enough to know what it sounds like when a local team wins a championship.
I want to make gaufres de Liège this weekend. And maybe catch that Indiana Jones flick. I need to catch up on my sleep. And write. And clean. Tomorrow is Friday is interleague play is lame (though full of chuckles due to AL pitchers trying to bat) is Justin Masterson is my favorite.
I'm hungry, but it's after midnight. Instead of food I shall scribble down a few more words and sleep.
*Hey, all I had was: two Guinnesses, two glasses of pinot grigio, a jaeger bomb, half an espresso martini, a Heineken (the Guinness was pouring hella slowly), and a shot of Jameson. The Bloody Mary and mimosas were at the hotel bar and in my sister's kitchen while we were getting our hair did, respectively. (I think that's all I had. Hey, I wasn't even hung over the next morning, so. There might've been another beer or two, though, who can say?)
