Progress in Inter-Species Relations

In the last week or so, there's been significant improvement in the kitties' tolerance of Pilsner. Pilsner loves the cats, but the feeling is not mutual. How would you like getting your butt sniffed by a nose that's bigger than your butt?

Chris occasionally likes to bring the cats down from the upstairs to hang out with us on the couch, where they're in Pilsner range. This usually resuls in lots of hissing and the cats running for the stairs as soon as they see a chance. Lately, though, even Pollux has managed to relax, so long as there isn't a dog nose being poked at him.

This morning, however, was truly remarkable. I was lying in bed, both kitties curled up next to me. Pilsner comes trotting in to say good morning, and jumps right up on the bed. The cats didn't even move. No hissing, no growls, just watch Pilsner carefully to make sure he's not going to sit on them. Pilsner completely ignored the kitties, caring more about saying hello to me, and getting belly rubs from The Chef.

The kitties got a can of kitty junk food when I got up this morning. :-)
