So today The Chef & I met up with my fellow nerdy knitter Becca and her man Mike at the Alpaca Market in Estes Park. It was smaller than I'd hoped, but rather nice - I saw some adorable alpaca-vicuna (I hope I'm spelling that right) hybrids, and I WANT SOME! I settled for a drop spindle and some alpaca roving and a book to learn how to spin my own yarn. :-) I bought it from Chris Switzer, of
Switzer Land Farms, who also gave me a quick demonstration on spinning too. :-)
Before we headed to Estes, though, we stopped at the train cars in Ned to get coffee for The Chef and so I could use the bathroom (the water to our building was shut off this AM so the neighbors could get a new water heater). While we were there, I spied this in the candy section, and it made me think of
pktaxwench and
garibaldicu:
Tentacles!!!
I'll report on my spinning attempts later.
