I'm holding down the fort here in Fair Lawn while the balance of the family, sans cats, sojourns at Pennsic. The news? They were having fun at the beginning of the week but I haven't heard from them for a few days. Unfortunately they may have rain for the packing up and returning part of the trip.

The clothes dryer gave up the ghost in the flurry-of-activity week before our departure to points north and the subsequent departures to points south (for me) and west (for juergen, bunnyjadwiga, Beekman, and Miss B). We almost had Sears Repair come out and fix it but with the good will of our landlord (contractually the dryer is available for our use "as-is") he and I took the dryer apart and found that a belt had broken. A replacement has been secured but is not yet installed. I'm hoping that tonight will be reassembly night. This effort saved us $95. Not bad for a couple of hours of basement.
It's been quiet in the house, it's quiet at work. Lots of quiet. Um - I think I'll put some music on. And it was Bulletproof by La Roux.
