I think this happens to a lot of people. I lose my taste for coffee when I have a cold, or maybe it's any illness. when I'm sick, I drink tea.
The family has been passing a cold around and I got it last week. On Friday I started coughing. This weekend was supposed to be my hang around quietly and not do anything but rest time. It's been a limited success. I'm starting to feel somewhat better, so that's good, but I'm keeping my doctor's appt. for tomorrow anyway.
We had one visitor come ahead anyway, despite my illness, so we have a guest for the weekend, Gowan, who has been delightful company and has read to us (!) on two successive nights. It's been a lot of fun.
Becky had cheering activities all weekend. There's a home game this weekend. This will be the first thing that I haven't gone to, but I really can't see that it makes sense to stand around outside on a chilly, blustery day. Actually, I promised someone I'd stay in and rest.
I had to pay off on a bout of volunteerism this weekend. The new coach (for cheering) has usually found a crafty mom by now to make hair bows for the squad. She came late to the game when the first coach bailed on the activity. I had gotten some ribbons to make something for Becky's head and she asked if I could make them for the whole squad. That's 18 girls. I said I could - the coach wants the bows for competition - but then yesterday was pictures day. I wanted to finish all the bows for the photo session, but could not finish all the streamers. Four bows didn't have streamers, so we gave them to the coaches and Becky agreed to have one for the photos.
By now I've made the streamers and just have to put the bows back together by gluing them onto the barrettes again. I needed to make bows for the 18 girls, 3 coaches, the mascot, and then there are some other people who want them.
