So this is from a good friend of mine who I have been talking with lately, and it seems we have many of the same thoughts and feelings when it comes to... quite a bit, though specifically for the purpose of this post, cuddles/snuggles/relationships. Here are a few of the direct quotes.
"I've done a lot of contemplating/pontificating about relationshippy stuff in the past year or so (partly a post-[ex]-relationship mental debriefing, I suppose) - and, among other things, came to the conclusion that I rather missed both cuddly-unconsciousness-sleeping-with-someone and having a sex life, and that I miss them as *entirely separate things*"
"(I suspect that I, personally, would be quite happy with the various slices of relationshippy stuff coming kind of a la carte from various different people, instead of as a combo entree thingy, so to speak)"
"or, rather, to invert it a bit: when people say they want to be in a relationship, there's a bunch of stuff involved, and what people are looking for will, of course, vary a lot - physical affection, verbal affection, friendship, sex, someone to wake up next to, a good roommate, &c... and why necessarily make it all come from one person?"
Does anyone else have any thoughts to add to this at all?
